She was born in New York, NY on May 11, 1925 to Michael and Lillian (Clark) Greene. She lived in Jackson Heights, NY most of her life before moving to Manchester in 1982.
Adelaide worked for Companion Life Insurance Company in New York City for many years. While in New York she volunteered at the Xavier Guild for the Blind and at Elmhurst Hospital.
In Manchester, she was a member of the Ladies Guild at St. Catherine Church where she served as co-chair of the Holiday Fair and sponsored the Luxury Items table. She also volunteered in the library at St. Catherine School for many years.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed jewelry making, the theater, dining out and time spent with her family.
She was married to Edward F. Shevlin who died in 1986.
The family includes four daughters, Joanne Shevlin of Manchester, Nancy E. Brackett and her husband, Edward A., of Litchfield, Deirdre Dellatore and her husband, Thomas, of Easton, PA and Patrice Shevlin of Jackson Heights, NY; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Lillian V. Greene.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, August 23, 2013 at St. Catherine Church, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
