Adrienne of Jesus

Sr. Adrienne of Jesus (Sr. Leona Gagne), 99, of the Sisters of Presentation of Mary, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester died February 25, 2002 at her residence.

Born in Biddeford, ME on September 9, 1902, she was the daughter of Joseph and Delvina (Tardif) Gagne. She entered the order of the Sisters of Presentation of Mary in 1926, made her first profession in 1928 and made her final profession in 1933.

She earned a bachelor's degree from Rivier College, Nashua. She then taught at parochial elementary schools in New Hampshire at Berlin, Concord and Manchester. She also ministered in Keene and at St. Marie Residence, Manchester.

The family includes two nieces, Sr. Audrey Bardsley, PM of Methuen, MA and Mrs. George Simms of Biddeford, ME.

Calling hours were February 26, 2002 in the Resurrection Chapel of St. Marie Residence, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated February 27, 2002 in the Resurrection Chapel. Burial was in Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson.
