She was born April 18, 1914 in St. Albans, VT and was the daughter of Edmund and Delia (Remillard) Lanier.
She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1932 and made her final profession in 1939. She served the Congregation for 76 years.
Sister Lanier earned a BS degree from Rivier College; an Ed.M from Boston University and an honorary Doctorate from Notre Dame College in Manchester, NH.
She was the last living foundress of Notre Dame College where she served as a professor in the business department from 1950 to 1985. She had previously taught secondary level education in New Bedford, MA and in Nashua and Manchester.
She retired to St. George Manor in Manchester in 1995.
Family members include several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday March 17, 2008 in the chapel of St. George Manor. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery.
