Agnes du Sauveur p.m.

Sr. Agnes-du-Sauveur, p.m., (Sr. Floraine Cloutier), age 99, a Sister of the Presentation of Marie, died November 16, 2006 at St. Joseph Residence, Manchester, NH.

Born in Woonsocket, RI, on September 14, 1907, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Agnes (Roch) Cloutier.

She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in 1925, at St. Hyacinthe, Canada. She made her First Profession in 1928 and her final Profession in 1933.

Sister Agnes received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from Rivier College in Nashua, NH.

An educator, Sr. Agnes served as a teacher in the Catholic Schools in Maine, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. Through the years, she served as Superior in the local communities of New Hampshire and Rhode Island. In 1955, she was appointed Provincial Councilor, a position she held until 1967.

She retired at Our Lady of Victories Convent, RI in 1986, transferred to Marie Rivier Community in Hudson in 1997 and in 2001 to St. Joseph Residence in Manchester.

She will be remembered for her dedication, gentleness, and compassion for the sisters as well as all those with whom she was able to serve.

Family members include a sister, Juliette Richer of Houston, TX; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday November 20, 2006 in the Resurrection Chapel. Burial followed in the Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson, NH.
