Alan E. Cady, 78, of Pelham, NH died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 28, 2024.

Born November 28, 1945, in Worcester, MA, he was the biological son of Charles O’Donnell, adoptive son of Philip Cady & his mother Thelma Gloria (Stoddard) McNamara, and grew up in Spencer, MA. Alan graduated from Manchester Central High School in 1963. He then obtained his degree in electronic engineering from New Hampshire Technical Institute in 1969, after attending the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, MA. In 1965 he married his high school sweetheart Susan (Shea) enjoying 58 years of marriage.

As a true entrepreneur, he went on to own and operate his business, UPNOVR, Inc., proudly manufacturing shipboard products for the U.S. Navy. In addition to the business, he was a master pistol shooter, a master in taekwondo, and a proud member of the Porsche Club of America. In all aspects of his life, Alan pursued his endeavors with passion, ambition, and perseverance. Most importantly, his ability to, “never give up” motivated him and those around him to conquer all of life's adversities.

In his spare time, Alan enjoyed taking trips with Susan to Kittery and Boothbay Harbor, ME, spending time at his beach home in North Hampton, NH, and watching weekly TV shows with his daughter. Alan was a strong-willed, compassionate man who had an enormous heart. He was nothing short of generous, clever, and full of knowledge. He will be remembered for the immense love he had for his family, the pride he had in each of his grandchildren, and his vigor for life and all its opportunities. Alan was the center of his family and will be missed by all who knew him.

Alan is survived by his loving wife Susan L. Cady of Pelham, NH; his daughter Dawn (Cady) Gosselin & her husband Shawn of Pelham, NH; his son Craig Cady of Nashua, NH; his five grandchildren Mckenna, Piper, and Sawyer Gosselin, Ava & Angus Cady; his sister Cheryl Buckler & her predeceased husband Jon of Hawriver, NC; his brother Bob O’Donnell & wife Cathy of CA; life-long best friend Steven B. Worthen & his wife Cathy of Merrimack, NH. Alan was predeceased by his mother Thelma Gloria (Stoddard) McNamara; biological father Charles O’Donnell; adoptive father Philip Cady; and grandson Chase Oliver Gosselin.

SERVICES: A celebration of life will be held in honor of Alan at a time and date to be determined.
