Albert F. Roberge, 105, of Manchester, died July 3, 2004, at the Ellliot Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born February 24, 1899, in St. Paul de Chester, Quebec, he was a son of Mederic and Cedulie (Roby) Roberge. He lived most of his life in Manchester.
Mr. Roberge worked as a loom fixer for Arms Textile Co. for many years. After retiring he did volunteer work for Manchester Child & Family Services.
He was the oldest member of St. Anne-St. Augustin parish.
He was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis, the Sacred Heart League, and the League of 1000 Men of the Precious Blood Monastery.
He was married to Alice I. (Girard) Roberge who died in 1989. In addition three children, Maurice Roberge, Herve Roberge, and Claire Roberge, and nine sisters and two brothers predeceased him.
Family members include a son, George G. Roberge of Manchester; two daughters, Stella Bourgeois and Marcelle Beaulieu, both of Manchester; 20 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; 35 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday July 12, 2004 at St. Anne-St. Augustin Church. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery.
