Albina L. (Cote) Donovan, 92, of Manchester, died November 6, 2018 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA after a sudden illness.
She was born in Manchester on November 5, 1926 to Wilfred and Eva (Ginard) Cote. She graduated from Manchester Central High School and attended NH College. She lived in Manchester for most of her life and several years in Florida.
Albina worked at Shear Shoe Company and Seal-Rite Aluminum both in Manchester. She later was owner and operator of Knit-Rite Yarn Shop in Manchester for many years.
She had volunteered at Elliot Hospital, ushered at the Palace Theater, served as treasurer of the Socialite Singles Club and was active at the Cashin Senior Center, all in Manchester. She enjoyed dancing, bingo, cribbage, puzzles, reading and time spent with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Michael J. Donovan in 1976 and by five siblings.
The family includes five daughters, Sharon Maciolek and husband, Michael, Michele Jenness and husband, Michael, Sharon Dionne, Audrey Donovan and spouse, Karen, and Jean Lagasse and husband, Charly; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Services are private and at the convenience of the family. A public memorial service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cashin Senior Center, 151 Douglas St., Manchester, NH 03102
