Alexander Georgeou, 90, of Hampton, NH died February 3, 2026 after a long period of illness.
Born in Manchester, NH on March 21, 1935, he was the son of Panagiotis and Katherine (Roulias) Georgeou. He was a graduate of Manchester High School Central and earned his degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy.
He was employed as a registered pharmacist in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Soon afterwards he was employed by Merck and Co. as a pharmaceutical sales representative calling physicians, pharmacies, hospitals and other medical groups.
Mr. Georgeou attained the position of Executive Professional Representative and received many awards with Merck, including numerous Vice President Awards.
An active member of the NH pharmacists Association, he served as a member of the Association’s Board of Directors. In 1987, he was proud to be named New Hampshire Pharmacist of the Year. He also was a member of the Continuing Education Advisory Committee.
Upon retirement, Alex and his wife Rita retired to Hampton, NH where they enjoyed a happy seacoast life. They soon spent winters in Naples, Florida.
Upon retirement, Alex and Rita traveled extensively throughout the world and the National Parks of America. Mr. Georgeou was also a valued volunteer in both NH and Florida, donating his time and efforts to the Hampton Seafood Festival and Soup Kitchen. While in Naples, Florida, he volunteered many years at the Naples Community Hospital.
A man of many interests, he loved playing tennis, enjoyed the live theater, and especially loved playing a competitive game of poker with friends in NH and Florida.
Most important in Mr. Georgeou’s life was his family. As a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he proudly celebrated his family’s academic, sports, and professional accomplishments.
He leaves behind Rita, his wife of 66 years; his daughters, Lisa Devine and Diana Georgeou; his grandsons, Christopher Devine and wife Haley, Alexander Devine and wife Monika. He especially loved spending time with his great-granddaughter, Rory Devine and great-grandson, Jackson Devine.
Calling hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, Manchester will be Monday, February 9th from 4 to 7 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be private in the spring time.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be made to the Gastrointestinal Cancer Fund.
