Alfred W. Bodi, 67, of Bedford, NH died June 7, 2018 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH after a brief illness.
Born in Boston, MA on December 19, 1950, he was the son of Alfred and Teresa V. (Dolan) Bodi. He graduated from Pembroke Academy and earned his degree from the University of New Hampshire.
He served four years in the US Air Force before his honorable discharge with the rank of Sergeant.
Prior to his retirement, Alfred's career in the insurance industry was both exceptional and extensive. He held several claims management positions at AIG and Traveler's Insurance before completing his career as Senior Vice President of Claims at Swiss Re Insurance.
He was an avid Boston sports fan who enjoyed supporting the Red Sox; he spent many happy times at his beloved Fenway Park creating memories with his family members. He possessed a keen intellect for the nuances of the game of baseball and basketball.
Throughout his life, Cape Cod was Al's favorite vacation destination to relax and enjoy the soothing sounds by the sea.
He had a voracious appetite for gaining information and expertise on numerous subjects and enjoyed sharing that knowledge.
Above all else, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend who cherished time spent with family. He unselfishly and generously gave his time to many who loved him.
Family members include his wife, Christine A. (Bournival) of Bedford; his two sons, Evan and Andrew Bodi of Bedford; his siblings, Brian Bodi and wife Brenda of Concord, Dale Bodi and wife Jacqueline of Hampton, Mark Bodi and wife Marie of Portsmouth, Steven Bodi and wife Maura of West Palm Beach, FL; his in-laws, J. Maurice and Margaret Bournival of Goffstown; several nephews, nieces and cousins.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
