Alfred M. Hanson, 103, of Manchester, NH, died July 29, 2002, at Catholic Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Barrington, RI, December 23, 1898, he was the son of Fred and Frances (Brown) Hanson. He lived in Rhode Island until moving to Manchester in 1960.

He was a foreman in the woolen mills for many years. He worked for the Lorraine Mill and Collin & Aikman Mills in Rhode Island. He later worked many years for Arms Textile in Manchester, NH.

He was a mason and a member of the Washington Lodge in Warren, RI for 80 years.

He and his wife were enrolled in the centenarian study at Harvard University.

Family members include his wife of 65 years, Yvonne I. (Dion) Hanson of Manchester, NH; a daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Elizabeth) Krause of Chelmsford, MA; a grandson and his wife, John and Maria Krause of Glendale, CA; a granddaughter, Janet Krause of No. Stonington, CT; a sister, Gertrude Conley of Richmond, VA, a sister in law, Diana Dion of Pawtucket, RI; many nieces and nephews.

The funeral was Thursday August 1, 2002 am in the funeral home.

Burial was Thursday in Forest Chapel Cemetery, Barrington, RI.
