He was born in Syracuse on April 16, 1932, the son of Alfred and Eva (Richer) Reney. He was educated in the Syracuse school system.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Prior to retirement, he had been employed in the patient accounting department at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for several years.
Alfred found his greatest joy spending time with family and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and "Dad Gammie".
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret Mary (Webb) Reney of Bedford; two daughters, Kimberley Jaworski and her husband Peter of Boxford, MA, Melanie O'Donnell and her husband Terrence of Las Vegas; three grandchildren, Julianna Jaworski, Terrence O'Donnell Jr, and Christopher O'Donnell; his brother, Donald Reney of Syracuse; nephews, nieces, cousins and his favorite dog Piper.
A memorial service was held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, corner of North St, Manchester, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New England Heart Institute, Care of the Catholic Medical Center, Philanthropy Office, 100 McGregor St, Manchester, NH 03102.
