Alfred J. Vincent, 80, of Bedford, died October 11, 2002, at his residence, after a brief illness.
Born in New Ipswich, July 2, 1922, he was the son of Joseph and Mary (Bruno) Vincent. He lived most of his life in Bedford.
Mr. Vincent served in the army during World War II. He was the recipient of the American Defense Service Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Medal.
He worked for 34 years as a truck driver for J.E. Faltin Co. and Hemmingway Transportation Co. He was a member of the Teamsters Union 633 for 34 years.
Mr. Vincent had been a member of Bedford Presbyterian Church since 1958.He was a member of the American Legion, Sweeney Post.
He loved gardening and being with his family.
He was married 53 years to Maude (Sullivan) Vincent, who died in 1998.
Family members include 2 daughters, Bonnie Ball of Bedford, and Betty Marineau of Wells, Me; a son, Alfred L. Vincent of Weare; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a brother, Gerard Vincent of Wilton; a sister, Rose Rousseau of Greenville; many nieces and nephews.
The funeral was Tuesday October 15, 2002 in the Bedford Presbyterian Church, Church Rd., Bedford. Burial followed in Bedford Center Cemetery.
