Alice D. Pierce

May 18, 1936 — November 11, 2016

Alice D. Pierce, 80, of Hooksett, died November 11, 2016 at her home.

She was born in Manchester on May 18, 1936, the fifth of six children to Emile and Eliane (Demers) Duval. She graduated from St. George High School in 1952 and completed an LPN at Notre Dame de Lourdes (NDL) Hospital School of Nursing.

After many years as a homemaker and raising her five children, Alice took advantage of her nursing background and worked as the Director of Social Service with the Maple Leaf Health Care Center for over 21 years. She was highly respected for her genuine compassion toward fellow workers, residents and their family members with whom she came in contact with daily.

Spending time with family and friends, reading, walking, berry picking, entertaining, enjoying music and early morning coffee outings with her husband and best friend, Owen, were some of her important lifelong passions. Alice was known to all for her radiant smile, dry wit and uncommonly good nature.

She is survived by a loving family including her devoted husband, Owen Pierce of Hooksett; two daughters, Michelle Morin of Manchester and Denise Johnson and her husband, David, of Merrimack; three sons, David Morin Jr. and his wife, Linda, of New Boston, Robert Morin and his wife, Therese, of Manchester and Charles Morin and his wife, Sandra, of Dunbarton; eight grandchildren, Dustin Bourque, Therese Bourque, Charles Johnson, Elizabeth Morin, Danielle Morin, Damon Morin, Carter Johnson and Grayson Morin; a great grandchild, Isabella Bourque; two siblings, Frances Sopel and her husband, John, of Meadow Lakes, TX and Vincent Duval and his wife, Marcelle, of Goffstown.

Alice was predeceased by three siblings, Denise Gosselin, Dr. Robert Duval and Jean Duval.

A committal service took place on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester assisted the family with arrangements.
