Alice M. Proulx, 80, of Manchester died October 24, 2007 at her residence.

Born in Manchester on April 25, 1927, she was the daughter of Harry and Mary (Clark) Emery. She lived in Manchester most of her life.

She worked as a counselor at the Youth Development Center in Manchester for 25 years.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph LaRoche in 1949 and by her second husband, Leo "Wimpy" Proulx in 2002.

Mrs. Proulx enjoyed gourmet cooking and summers spent at Wells, ME with her second husband. She was a member and former president of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association.

IN HER LIFE: The family includes two children, Francis LaRoche and his wife, Lucille of Homosassa, FL and Mary Brentley and her husband, George of Manchester; a step son, Mark Proulx and his wife, Carol of Manchester; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a brother, Charles Emery of Hooksett and nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday, November 5, 2007. at St. Raphael Church, Walker St., Manchester. Private burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fitchburg, MA. Memorial donations may be made to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Cancer Fund, c/o VFW Post 8214, 352 Kelley St., Manchester 03102.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester assisted the family with arrangements.
