Allen Richard Port, 48, of Manchester, died peacefully on October 15, 2017 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA after a short battle with liver cancer. His immediate family was by his side. He was the son of Roberta Port and the late Kenneth Port, born on August 25, 1969, in Manchester, NH. Allen graduated from Goffstown High School in 1988. He was an electrician with Levasseur Electrical Contractors, Inc. for 20 years and also the head of their Fire Alarm Division "Bedford Alarm System" to which he was a major factor in its success. Allen had a passion for motorcycles and playing his bass guitar. He loved hunting and fishing with his father and often called his father his best friend, his mentor, his Super Man. Allen was a lifetime Boy Scout of Troop 102, Pinardville. He was also Vice President of the Pinardville Athletics Club.
Allen is survived by his mother, Roberta Port of Manchester; two children, twins Autumnlee and Allen Port, Jr. of Manchester; stepson, Garrett Peacock of Auburn; brother, James Port and family of Merrimack; and three cousins: Susan Durgin of Hudson, FL, Charles Durgin of Peterborough, Sherry Whitmore of Lyndeborough. Allen was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Susan Leslie of Goffstown and his cousin Robert Durgin, Jr. of Blacksburg, VA. Allen leaves behind his cat Mitsy and best friends, Dana Mailman, Dave Francis, Matthew Harris, and Chris Burns, his boss. Allen had many other friends, too numerous to mention, but loved them all! Allen will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm Street, Manchester.
