Allen Joseph "Hank" Swiadas, 62, of Goffstown and Rye Beach, died suddenly July 24th while lobstering off Rye Harbor on the boat he loved, Auntie L II.
He was born July 22, 1953 in Manchester, NH to the late Joseph J. and Valeria M. (Trakimas) Swiadas. Hank attended St. Patrick's School and graduated from Manchester West High School in 1972. In 1981, he married the love of his life, Julie Zankowski.
Hank worked many years for Lane Construction and for the past twenty years was employed by the Town of Bedford. He especially enjoyed battling the winter storms and keeping the streets clear for the residents of Bedford. Friends and family affectionately called him "Snowy."
Hank was an avid outdoorsman who loved the beach, lobstering, fishing, hunting, and riding his Harley. He played softball with the Bedford firefighters, ice hockey with the Wednesday Night "Pick Up" League, and he was a member of the Pointer Fish and Game Club. He was a skilled welder and craftsman.
Hank was an outstanding dad who was proud of putting his three loving children through college. He was kind, generous, appreciative, and always willing to lend a helping hand, especially to his much beloved mother-in-law Blanche. Hank was gifted with a wonderful sense of humor resulting in countless, unforgettable tales.
Hank was faithful to his religion and supported his church through his membership in the Holy Trinity Cathedral PNCC. He was also a key member of the HTC Cemetery Committee. In addition, he was a courageous cancer survivor who inspired us all.
Hank is survived by wife Julie, son Stefan and wife Jacqueline of Merrimack, daughters Alina and fiance Nate Jackman of Bedford, and Stasia of Goffstown; brothers John "Gib" of Palmyra, PA and his companion Darlene Reichelederfer, Michael and wife Joan of Naples, FL, sister Karen Shaker and husband David of Downingtown, PA, his aunt Aldona Bedard of Manchester and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Hank will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, July 31, 2015 at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, 166 Pearl Street, Manchester, NH by the Rt. Rev. Paul Sobiechowski, Pastor.
