Andre L. Bilodeau, 94, of Manchester, died July 5, 2016 at Elliot Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Manchester on February 8, 1922, the son of Joseph and Lydia (LeBrun) Bilodeau. Andre attended St. Marie High School and was a lifelong resident of the Queen City. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1944.
Andre worked as a cutter in the shoe factory for many years. He later worked as a bus driver for Manchester Transit Authority for over 20 years, retiring in 1987. He was also a HAM Radio operator.
Andre enjoyed spending time in Florida for many years. He also enjoyed getting into his car and driving. More so, he loved spending time with his family. He was a very mild and gentle man. He was truly adorable and had an amazing personality. He was non confrontational and non judgmental. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother.
Andre was predeceased by his beloved wife of 53 years, Lorraine J. (Biron) Bilodeau in 2000.
Family includes his three daughters, Judy Gosselin and husband Roland of Newfields, Janice Tatman and husband Dennis of Manchester, and Denise Doherty and husband Daniel of Manchester; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Gabrielle Cote and husband Paul of Florida; one brother, Gerard Bilodeau of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by one sister, Jeanne Bilodeau; and two brothers, Leo and Roland Bilodeau.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Interment took place at NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.
