André (Andy) R. Parent Sr., 62, of Manchester, NH, passed away after a long courageous battle with stomach cancer on April 07, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Andy was born in Manchester, NH on February 19, 1964, to Francis Parent and Pauline (Theroux) Parent. He was raised and resided in Manchester. He was a graduate of Manchester Central High School and proudly served in the Marine Corps before starting his career in fire service, which spanned 36 years; 2 years with Derry Fire and 34 years with Manchester Fire, where he retired as Fire Chief.
Andy loved spending time with his grandchildren and expressed his love best through the meals he prepared for his family and friends. He was a devoted member of the community and an avid sports fan who found joy in golf, football, fishing and baseball. Whether watching a game or spending time on the field, sports were a constant source of happiness throughout his life.
His love of baseball extended far beyond fandom. Andy dedicated countless hours to mentoring young athletes as a youth baseball coach, shaping not only their skills but also their character. His commitment to the sport and to the community was further reflected in his role as Vice President of Central Little League, where he helped foster a positive and supportive environment for generations of players.
Andy was also a proud member of the American Legion Post, volunteered at the Liberty House in Manchester, and served Manchester on various boards and committees. In addition, he served many roles within the Manchester Professional Firefighters Union, including Vice President where he was deeply respected for his leadership, dedication, and unwavering support of his fellow firefighters.
Above all, Andy will be remembered for his generosity, his strong sense of community, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of service, mentorship, and love.
Andy is survived by his mother, Pauline Parent of Manchester, his sister Michele Trovato and husband Lou of Epsom, his sister, Lisa Dubois of Goffstown, his brother, Lenny Parent and wife Joanne of Hooksett, his sister, Celeste Phaneuf and husband Don of Manchester, his daughter, Samantha Park and husband Kevin of Derry, his son, André Parent II and wife Sydney of Manchester, his daughter Nicole Grinley and husband Jeffrey of Pelham, his son, Michael Allard of Sterling, and by his, five grandchildren, Oliver Park, Eleanor Park, Joseph Grinley, Gracie Parent, and Kelsey Grinley, his fur baby, Jaxson, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Joan Parent, his father Francis Parent, and his brother Francis Parent.
Calling hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm Street, Manchester, NH 03104 will be Monday, April 13th from 3 to 7 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Saint Joseph Cathedral, 145 Lowell Street, Manchester, NH 03104 on Tuesday, April 14th at 10 AM, followed by a private ceremony at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Manchester.
