Angele M. (Boisvert) Lafond, 77, of Manchester, died July 23, 2004 as a result of an automobile accident while traveling in Canada.
She was born in Three Rivers, Quebec, Canada October 4,1927, and was the daughter of Joseph and Albertina Boisvert.
She had worked at many jobs in the Manchester area, most recently as a bulk-mailing clerk at the Precision Technology company.
Angele was devoted to her family, she loved dancing, bingo and visiting Canada. She was quick to lend a hand to all in need. She was in the process of building her own home in Canada. She was the first woman to run for Mayor of Manchester, and she did it twice.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Lucien Lafond, in August of 1984.
Family members include her seven children; Louise Jackson, of Manchester, Constance Vigneault, of Manchester, Anita Lafond, of Manchester, Vivian Gancarz, of Canton GA, Lucien Lafond Jr, of AL, Daniel Lafond, of Goffstown, Raymond Lafond, of Manchester; 26 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; a sister, Madeleine Lemire, of Manchester; a brother, Florien Boisvert, of Hooksett; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday July 29, 2004 in St. Anne-St. Augustin Church, Beech St. corner of Lake Ave. Manchester.
Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery 474 Goffstown Rd. Manchester, NH.
Memorial donations may be made to the Precious Blood Monastery, 700 Bridge St., Manchester.
