Anita loved cooking, sewing and bridge and was an avid candlepin bowler. She enjoyed Foxwoods, Patriots and Red Sox games and beachcombing along the seacoast. She began her career teaching home economics at Burlington, MA High School. Anita was also a substitute teacher for many years. She enjoyed traveling, especially to visit her children and adoring grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Alfred B. Chaplin, three children - Patricia Bruhns (David) of Ballston Spa, NY, Thomas Chaplin (Lou Nelson) of Sutton, Quebec, Kathleen Stigmon (John) of Flagstaff, AZ, six grandsons - Matthew Bruhns (Erin) of Waterbury Center, VT, Timothy Bruhns (Marissa) of Pawtucket, RI, Andrew and Cameron Bruhns of Ballston Spa, NY, Ryan and Daniel Stigmon of Flagstaff, AZ.
Many thanks to the staff at Villa Crest (especially Penny and Melissa) for the loving end-of-life care Anita received.
A small private service was held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Carmelite Monastery in Boston.
