She was born in Manchester, NH, February 11, 1950, the daughter of Lucien A. and Angele M. (Boisvert) Lafond. She was educated in the local school system and received a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Notre Dame College.
Prior to her illness, Anita had been working for the Visiting Nurses Association/Parent Baby Adventure, an affiliate of Elliot Health Systems.
In her life: She loved dancing and teaching tambourine dance. She was the founder of the Sweet Incense dance team at her church and also loved playing guitar and singing. Anita had a special love for people and volunteered much of her time assisting others. Her missionary work included time spent in Guatemala, Venezuela, The Dominican Republic, Estonia, Kiev, AIDS missionary work in South Africa, The Ukraine, China, Taiwan, and Russia. From 1997 to 1998, she was involved with New Jerusalem Missions in Newton, Kansas.
Members of her family include two daughters, Melynda Golabiewski of Merrimack, NH, and Cynthia "Cindy" Golabiewski of South Carolina; one son and his wife, Robert and Karyn Golabiewski of Derry; three grandchildren, Alicia Herling, Corey Sylvia, and Ryan "Go'lil Biscuit"; three sisters, Louise Lafond of Manchester, Connie Vigneau of Goffstown, and Vivian Gancarz of Georgia; three brothers, Lucien Lafond Jr. of Alabama, Daniel Lafond of Pinardville, and Raymond Lafond of Manchester; nephews, nieces, and cousins.
The funeral service was held on Saturday September 1, 2007 in Kingdom Family Worship Center, 12 Station Road, Bedford, NH. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
