Anita Lapointe

Sr. Anita Lapointe, CSC (Sr. M. Marcia), 93, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, 357 Island Pond Rd., Manchester died October 17, 2004 at her residence.

Born in Thetford Mines, Quebec, Canada on August 25, 1911, she was the daughter of Napoleon and Clementine Lapointe. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1928 and made her final profession in 1935. She served the Congregation for 76 years.

Sr. Anita earned a bachelor's degree from Notre Dame College in Manchester. She then taught in parochial elementary schools in New Hampshire at Nashua, Newmarket, Rochester and Suncook; in St. Albans, VT, New Bedford, MA and North Grosvenordale, CT. She was later stationed at St. Anthony Convent in Manchester and retired in 1991.

The family includes nephews and nieces.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday October 21, 2004 in the chapel of St. George Manor. Burial was in St. Augustin Cemetery, Manchester.
