Anita L. Nelson

October 27, 1954 — August 31, 2021

Anita L. (Spenard) Nelson, 66, of Concord, died suddenly of a heart attack on August 31, 2021, at home. She was predeceased by her husband W. Paul Nelson.

Born in Manchester, NH on October 27, 1954, she was also predeceased by her parents Fernand J. Spenard and Bibiane (Robitaille) Spenard. She leaves behind three sisters, Emilie Kaplan of Manchester, Marie Heath of New Boston, and Judith Samardelis of NC.

Anita was a graduate of Manchester High School Central, Southern NH University with an AS in Business and Accounting, and Middlesex CC with an AS degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. She specialized in echocardiography and high risk OBGYN and worked at various hospitals in NH and MA.

Anita enjoyed reading, traveling, the ocean and lakes of NH, and spending time with family. She was an exceptional listener and was quite witty, providing much laughter and humor to any situation. Aunt Nina, as her nieces and nephews affectionately called her, had a way of making her sisters' children feel like they were her own. She will be deeply missed by Aaron, Amy, Jaimie, Arielle, Zachary, and Jillian. She shared a special relationship with her great nephews Jaxen P. and Ethan S. Dupuis, with whom she resided with last year during the State of NH shutdown.

Anita had a unique and loving relationship with animals, especially dogs and always had one throughout her life. Her most recent best friend, Ellie, will miss her visits and lap time. If friends would like to honor her memory, they are invited to donate to the non-profit Love4Satos.org, as Anita appreciated the work they do and enjoyed time spent with one of their rescues.

Private interment took place at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum in Manchester.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester assisted the family with arrangements.
