Anne-Marie "Mama Duke " Duclos, 86, of Manchester, died September 16, 2004, at Catholic Medical Center, after a brief illness.
Born in Manchester, June 4, 1918, she was the daughter of Leonidas and Amanda (Marier) Faucher, and had been a resident of Manchester all of her life.
She had worked at Pandora, and later at J.F. McElwain Shoe Co., Pigeon's Pharmacy, and most recently at Manchester Knitted Fashions.
She was a communicant of Parish of the Transfiguration.
She was predeceased by her husband Paul E. Duclos, who died in 1991, and her son Richard Duclos, in 1975, and a granddaughter, Kara C. Duclos who died August 24th.
Family members include four sons, John G. Duclos, Gerard P. Duclos, Denis G. Duclos, all of Manchester, and Roger H. Duclos of Goffstown; two daughters, Sr. Therese Duclos, of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the third order of St. Francis, of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Jeannette Harper of Manchester; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; many nieces & nephews and cousins.
She was an elegant lady who loved the Red Sox, baking apple pies, baking beans and making soup. She was a very positive person, a student of life, and a teacher as well. Everyone was made to feel special in her eyes.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday September 18, 2004 at Parish of the Transfiguration. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial donations, in memory of Kara C. Duclos, may be made to the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Special Fund, Children's Hospital, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115.
