Anthony “Tony” Haley, 77, of Manchester, died July 18, 2023 at Catholic Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born in Manchester on August 28, 1945 to Francis and Elizabeth (Broderick) Haley. He was a graduate of Bishop Bradley High School in 1963 and was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
Tony worked for the Diocese of Manchester for 45 years and was very active at St. Joseph Cathedral where he attended daily Mass. He served as master of ceremonies at many confirmations throughout the state of New Hampshire.
Tony was a basketball referee for many years in the Manchester area and had also officiated in other youth sports. He was a former president of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials. He was also an avid enthusiast of all sports and especially enjoyed golf.
He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, William Haley and Joseph Haley and a nephew, Joseph Buteau.
Tony is survived by three siblings, Frank Haley of North Palm, FL and Maureen Haley and Elizabeth Buteau and her husband, Anthony, all of Manchester and several nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Tuesday (7/25) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday (7/26) at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Cathedral, corner of Pine and Lowell Streets, Manchester. Committal prayers will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford.
