Anthony D. "Tony" Howd, 81, of Goffstown, died October 13, 2021 at Catholic Medical Center after a period of declining health.
He was born in New York, NY on September 29, 1940 to Giddings and Francina (Dawes) Howd. He earned an MBA from Boston University.
Tony served in the U.S. Air Force in the 1960's. During that time, he was stationed in Germany, Colorado, and Arizona. He lived in Goffstown for the past 28 years.
He worked at Digital Equipment Corporation for many years and served on the board that oversaw the placement of the Gold Star Mothers statue in Manchester. He was also a member of the Rock and Mineral Club in Concord, the Boomers Train Club in Bedford and was a former president of the Republican Party in Goffstown.
Tony was an avid collector of coins, stamps and etchings. He also had a deep faith and interest in the Bible and history.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Deborah (Maguire) Howd in 2001.
The family includes his wife of 15 years, Diane G. (Haynes) Millns-Howd of Goffstown; a daughter, Jennifer M. Howd and her spouse, Kate McCracken, of Cincinnati, OH; a step-son, Paul Millns and his spouse, Helen, of England; and two step-grandchildren, Angus MacKenney of Cincinnati, OH and Gemma Millns of England.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. Private interment will be at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen at the convenience of the family.
