Anthony J. Spagnuolo

Anthony J. "Tony" Spagnuolo, 56, of Bedford, died December 13, 2011 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

He was born in Waltham, MA on August 14, 1955, the son of Emilio Vito and Genevieve Theresa (Paino) Spagnuolo.

He was a graduate of Wayland High School and in 1980 he earned a degree in Civil Engineering from Princeton University summa cum laude.

Tony had been living in Bedford for the past 17 years. He was co-owner and President of Eckman Construction Company. He was most proud of his many projects at St. Anselm College, Franklin Pierce College and Bedford High School. Their most recent project, The Elliot at River's Edge,was a joint venture which changed the Manchester skyline.

While his children were growing up, Tony was always on the sidelines coaching or cheering them on. Whether it was sports or academics, he was always willing to do all he could to help. He was a member of the Manchester Country Club and his favorite golf partner was his son, AJ. His family was the most important part of his life.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, and son.

Family members include his loving wife of 20 years, Patricia Spagnuolo of Bedford; his children, Genevieve M. Spagnuolo of Bedford and Anthony J. Spagnuolo Jr. of Bedford; his siblings, Mary Anne Alberico of ME, Michael Spagnuolo, Diane Backman, Emilio V.Spagnuolo,David Spagnuolo, all of MA; his parents of MA; many aunts, uncles, nieces,nephews and cousins.

A funeral Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday, December 17, 2011 at St. Anselm Abbey Church, 100 St. Anselm Dr. Manchester, NH. Burial took place at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the St. Anselm College Scholarship Fund, 100 St. Anselm Dr., Manchester, NH 03102.
