Antonio J. Bedard, 87, of Manchester, died August 11, 2002, at Ridgwood Center Genesis Elderare, in Bedford, after a brief illness.
Born in Manchester, February 11, 1915, he was the son of Joseph and Marie (Cote) Bedard. He was a lifelong resident of this city.
He was an army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Bedard worked 27 years as a bus driver for Manchester Transit Authority. In his retirement he worked for Aubin Hardware until February of this year.
He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans Post 1624, and the American Legion William H. Jutras Post 43.
Mr. Bedard was a communicant of the Parish of the Transfiguration at St. John the Baptist. In addition he was a member of the League of 1000 Men of the Precious Blood Monastery.
He was married to Gabrielle Y. (Demers) Bedard, who died in 1995.
Family members include 2 daughters, Suzanne "Sue" Bedard, and Mrs. Paul (Jeannine) Gravel, both of Manchester; 2 sons, Pierre J. Bedard of Wilmot, NH, and David R. Bedard of Weare, NH; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 7 brothers, Edmond Bedard, Maurice Bedard, Albert Bedard, Normand Bedard, all of Manchester, Paul-Emile Bedard of Dunbarton, Rev. Andre Bedard of Nashua, and Robert Bedard of Manchester; 2 sisters, Aliette Demers, and Lucienne Pinard, both of Manchester; many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday August 14, 2002 in the Parish of the Transfiguration at St. John the Baptist, Kelley St., Manchester. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
