Antonio M. "Tony" Freitas, 58, of Manchester, passed away peacefully October 26, 2019 at his home after a courageous battle with Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct) Cancer.
He was born in São Miguel, Portugal on February 1, 1961 to Manuel and Maria (Moniz) Freitas. He graduated from Somerville (MA) Tech in 1979 and lived in Manchester for 24 years. He worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years.
Tony enjoyed camping, cooking and trips to the beach. He was a hard worker who enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents.
The family includes his wife of 30 years, whom he loved dearly, Mary (Cassell) Freitas; four children, Bryan Freitas and wife, Melissa, Antonio "AJ" Freitas, Alexandra Freitas and Andrew Freitas; two grandchildren, Jackson and Brady Freitas; a soon to be born grandchild, Aaliyah Antonia Francesca Freitas; six siblings, Joe Freitas and wife, Mena, Goretti Freitas, Margaret Tavares and husband, Louis, Maria Melo, Nick Freitas and wife, Cathy, and Zach Freitas and wife, Claudia; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at St. Joseph Cathedral, 305 Pine St., Manchester. Memorial donations may be made to: Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct) Cancer Foundation, 5526 W 13400 S #510, Herriman, Utah 84096.
