During the Korean War, he had served in the US Army.
Prior to retirement, he had worked for 20 years at Leblanc's Hardware in Manchester. Previously, he had worked as an accountant for Alltex, formerly Standard Uniform. He also had worked in the local area as a real estate broker.
Tony was a devout Catholic who along with his wife volunteered tirelessly for St. Anthony of Padua Parish. He was an avid reader and puzzle solver, and in his earlier years also enjoyed playing golf. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his time spent with family.
He was predeceased by his daughter Marie Ann (Roberge) Mears in 2007.
Family members include his wife of 59 years Jeanne (Binette) Roberge of Manchester; two sons, Marc Roberge of Manchester, Luc Roberge and partner Rickey Shepard Jr. of Manchester; his son-in-law, David Mears of Manchester; his grandchildren, Michael Mears and Brooke Mears, both of Manchester; his sister Helen Guillemette of Las Vegas NV; and cousins, nephews and nieces.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, March 9, 2013 in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Belmont St. Committal prayers followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
