He was born in Manchester August 5, 1987, the son of Keith and Cathy (Stables) Gagnon.
Aric attended local schools and was a member of the graduating class of 2006 at Memorial High School. He worked as a camp counselor at Camp Mi Te Na for the YMCA.
He was a student at the University of New Hampshire studying political science. In April of 2006, he was diagnosed with leukemia, and for the next three years under went treatments in search of a cure. Twice in the course of his illness, Aric underwent bone marrow transplants, the first from his younger brother Jimmy, a perfect match. During his illness he became quite familiar with the Children's Hospital Boston, and the Jimmy Fund Clinic. In 2009 he was able to travel to the Red Sox Spring Training camp, and received a baseball autographed by many of the Red Sox players. His courage and determination never faltered, he was always willing to spend time encouraging the younger ones at the Clinic.
Family members include his parents of Manchester; two brothers, James Gagnon and Seth Balboni, both of Manchester; his paternal grandmother, Eleanor Barbara Gagnon of Manchester; maternal grandparents, Gus and Eleanor Stables of Hooksett; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, May 23, 2009 in St. Catherine Church. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd.
