Armand A. Dumont

Armand A. Dumont, 87, of Manchester died March 8, 2008 at Harborside Healthcare- Northwood in Bedford after a period of declining health.

He was born on December 12, 1920 in Manchester and was the son of Alfred and Marianna (Poirier) Dumont.

He was a lifelong resident of Manchester and attended local schools. He entered the US Marines Corps on July 16, 1942 and served with the 4th division. He participated in four invasions including Kwajalein, Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima.

Mr. Dumont worked for many years as a truck driver for Auclair Transportation Company and retired in 1980. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 633 and the Intervale Country Club.

He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Elaine Dumont in 1951.

Family members include his wife of 57 years, Lucienne "Lou" (Henault) Dumont of Manchester; three daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Janet) St. Pierre of Goffstown; Mrs. David (Donna) Poirier of Hooksett and Mrs. Steven (Kristine) Belanger of Bedford; five grandsons and three granddaughters; a sister, Annette Fishel and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in the Parish of the Transfiguration, corner of Kelley and Youville streets, Manchester on Tuesday March 11, 2008. Committal prayers with full military honors followed in Mount Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parish of the Transfiguration, 107 Alsace St., Manchester, NH 03102.
