Armand G. Lavoie, 90, of Manchester, died on September 25, 2016 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Manchester, surrounded by his family following a period of declining health.
He was born in Manchester on May 13, 1926 to Albert and Annette (Perreault) Lavoie.
After high school he served in the US Navy.
Armand worked for Auclair Transportation for 34 years and Silver Brothers for eight years. He retired 25 years ago.
He met and married Paula C. (Durocher) Lavoie and had been married over 70 years.
Armand was a member of several social clubs the Jutras Post, Circle National, Alpine Club, Rimmon Club, the DAV and the Workman's club.
He was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching all the games.
The family includes his wife of 70 years, Paula C. (Durocher) Lavoie of Manchester; eight children, Paul Lavoie and his wife, Debbie, of Londonderry, Roger Lavoie, George H. Lavoie and his wife, Linda, John M. Lavoie and his wife, Frances, Denise "Dee" Beaunoyer, Michael Lavoie and Donna Rheault and her husband, Joe, all of Manchester and Albert A. Lavoie and his wife, Rebecca, of Dover; 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
A memorial service with military honors was held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester.
