Armella Kahn

July 25, 1942 — November 7, 2020

Armella Kahn, 78 of Bedford, NH passed peacefully while taking a nap November 7, 2020 at her residence. Typical for this time of year, at her side were many Thanksgiving recipes and her dog, Snuggles.

She was born on July 25, 1942 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of Frank and Frances (Lutz) Harkness.

Despite her lack of formal education, Armella was a trailblazer rose to the level of Vice President of IT for Glenmore Distilleries and later at Oracle Corporation while still making it to her kids' school and sporting events.

Raising two children while managing a successful career and later a happy marriage to Roger Kahn kept her too busy for much of a social life when she was younger – so as, she aged, she took on the role of wise and feisty matriarch of a wide variety of her daughter's friends and other people she met along the way, giving advice – sometimes unsolicited! – with sass and a Southern drawl. She instilled grit, humor and a belief that they could do anything if they just kept putting one foot in front of the other.

From the sacrifices she made as a young, single mom to later retiring from Miami to New Hampshire to be the very best Nannaw she could be for her grandkids, everything in Armella's life always centered around one thing-her family. This family that she leaves behind with her strength, resilience and a little bit of sass will be her best legacy.

Family members include her loving husband of 32 years, Roger Kahn of Bedford; her daughter, Jessica Correa, husband Doug, grandchildren Nate and Sloane and son Christopher Jadali of Waukegan, IL.

Funeral services will be private and at the family's convenience. A celebration in her honor will be held on Kentucky Derby Day, one of her favorite days of the year when we will wear fancy hats, drink mint juleps, tell funny stories and spend time with friends and loved ones – which is exactly what she would've wanted.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Catholic Charities of Manchester.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester, is assisting with arrangements.
