Arthur J. Bellemare, a retired Army Sergeant, died December 31, 2006 at the Elliot Hospital of natural causes.
He was born in Manchester, NH on June 17, 1918, the son of John and Elodi (Adam) Bellemare.
Mr. Bellemare was a WWII US Army veteran who retired after 22 years of service to his country.
He had been a resident of Manchester for the past 47 years whose outgoing, disarmingly friendly nature drew to him legions of friends. A great storyteller, he enjoyed sharing anecdotes of his life and adventures with friends and strangers.
He was a member of Intervale Country Club, American Legion Jutras Post, the East Side Club, and the American Legion, Henry J. Sweeney Post. He enjoyed bowling, golf, pool, and was an avid reader.
Members of his family include his brother, William Bellemare of Manchester; many nephews, nieces, and cousins in New Hampshire and Connecticut.
The funeral service was Wednesday January 3, 2007 in the funeral home chapel. Burial with full military honors followed in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the NH Kidney Center, Pillsbury Building, 248 Pleasant St, Suite G 400, Concord, NH 03301.
