Arthur J. McCloskey, 86, of Manchester, died July 11, 2016 at Hanover Hill Health Care Center after a period of declining health.
He was born in Manchester February 11, 1930 the son of Arthur J. and Isabelle (Currier) McCloskey, Sr.
Arthur served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict
He retired from New England Telephone where he worked for 40 years having worked as a technician in the central office. He was a union official and served as an executive board member of Local 2320 of the IBEW from 1973 to 1985. He was a member of Sweeney Post and the East Side Club.
Arthur enjoyed hockey, softball, tennis, playing pool, and especially his many trips to Arizona
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Marilyn (Madden) McCloskey of Manchester; three sons, Kevin McCloskey and wife Janelle of Chandler, AZ, Daniel McCloskey and wife Lisa and David McCloskey all of Manchester; a daughter, Karen McCloskey of Manchester; grandchildren, Abigail, Kylie and Colin McCloskey; nieces nephews and cousins.
The funeral was held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester, NH. Interment, with military honors, followed at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
