He was born in East Boston, April 7, 1920, and was the son of Arthur and Nora (Connelly) Rutledge.
He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and saw action at the Battle of the Bulge, the Arden Forest, the Battle of Britian, France and Germany. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant.
He retired in 1975 after working 35 years as a supervisor for the United States Postal Service.
Family members include a daughter, Nancy A. Morris, of Goffstown; a son, Arthur N. Rutledge, of VA; 2 sisters, Ann Nazzaro, of Malden, MA, and Marie Currie, of Belmont, MA; 2 brothers, Paul Rutledge, of CA, and Leonard Rutledge, of East Boston; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife, Florence Rutledge, in April, 2005.
The funeral was held Tuesday, August 12, 2008 in the funeral home. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
