Arthur A. Snyder III, 63 of Bedford, died suddenly at home, November 12, 2004.
He was born December 25, 1940, in Altoona PA, and was the son of Arthur and Dorothy (Smith) Snyder. He lived in Quincy Mass then in Pembroke, MA before moving to Bedford in 1990.
He had served in the United States Army, and graduated from Boston State College in 1966.
Mr. Snyder was Chief of Loan Processing at the Veterans Administration in Boston prior to holding the same position in Manchester, NH. He retired in 2000. During his retirement he worked part-time for Coldwell Bankers Real Estate.
He had been and assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 105 in Pembroke MA, and Boy Scout Troop 414 at the Bedford Presbyterian Church, Bedford NH.
He had been an active member of the Mountaindale Baptist Church in Mountaindale, PA, Good Sheppard Lutheran Church in Quincy, MA, Lutheran Church of the Cross in Hanover, MA, and was presently a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Amherst, NH
Family members include his wife Elsie (Tolstrup) Snyder of Bedford; two sons, Gregory Snyder of Goffstown, and Kent Snyder of Salt Lake City UT; his mother, of Altoona PA; two brothers, Stanley and Stephen Synder, both of Altoona, PA; a sister, Zoe Edwards of Phoenix, AZ; a grandson, Nathan Snyder, of Goffstown; a cousin, James Krepps, of Altoona PA; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Gerald Snyder.
A memorial service was held Wednesday November 17, 2004, at Mountaindale Baptist Church, Mountaindale, PA. Pastor Ben Warfel officiated. Burial followed in Blair Memorial Park Inc., Bellwood PA.
