Gus was born in Manchester on March 15, 1939, the son of Amedee and Dora (Raiche) Dubuc. He graduated from Bishop Bradley High School in 1956. He attended St. Anselm College for two years prior to earning his degree from New England College.
During the Berlin Crisis, he was activated for service in the US Air Force.
After his discharge from the service, he was employed as a pharmaceutical sales representative for several years. He then became a loan officer and worked at several prominent New Hampshire banks, relocating to Concord in 1973. In 1979 he opened and operated several ladies retail clothing stores in various locations throughout New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts. Upon retirement in 1993, he moved to the lakes region where he resided for ten years prior to returning to his familial home in Manchester three years ago.
His family includes four children, Sandra Downing and her husband George Downing of Bow, Donna Dubuc and her husband James Grussing of Keene, Lisa Bisson and her husband Richard Bisson of Concord, David Dubuc and his wife Brandi Dubuc of Nashua; three beautiful granddaughters, Margaret and Emily Grussing of Keene and Natalie Dubuc of Nashua.
The funeral service was held in Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, corner of North St, Manchester on Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery, So. Beech St, Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the CRVNA Hospice Program, 30 Pillsbury St., Concord, NH 03301.
