Aurie E. (Duplin) Upham, 93, of Manchester, died peacefully on April 21, 2017 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home from complications of Alzheimer's Disease.
She was born in Boston, MA on May 6, 1923 to Harold and Katherine (McMannamna) Duplin. She lived in the Manchester area for many years.
After raising her eight children, she worked part time at Leavitt's Department Store in Manchester and Jordan Marsh in Bedford. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Faculty Wives' Club at Saint Anselm College, Cursillo, Encounters and Diocesan Marriage Programs.
During her life, Aurie showed great generosity toward many people in need. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Roy H. Upham in 2006 and by a sister, Virginia Morrison.
The family includes her eight children and their spouses, Alice and Michael Dunfey, of Manchester, Charles and Pat Upham of Chichester, Jim and Kathy Upham of Venice, FL, Barbara and David Foster of New London, William Upham and his wife, Frances Nutter-Upham, of Nashua, Betty and David Griffin of Gorham, Mary Upham and Mike Gualtieri of Rutherford, NJ and Meg and David Pfalzgraf of Hooksett; 24 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock Streets, Manchester. A private cemetery committal was held on Friday, May 12.
