Barbara A. Tsantoulis, 91, of Manchester, NH passed away on December 21, 2020 after a period of declining health.
Barbara and her twin sister Beatrice were born on August 27, 1929 in Springfield VT to Sidney and Dorothy Swanson. She was preceded in death by her husband Timothy Tsantoulis and sisters Anna Mailhot and Lelia Sevigney, all of the Manchester area.
She was a loving and devoted mother to five children, Wanda Hines of Lyman, SC, Patricia Gladstone of Bedford, NH, Timothy Tsantoulis of Hooksett, NH, Susan Tsantoulis of Manchester, NH and Lance Tsantoulis of Greenland, NH. She was Nana to five grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Her work career took her down many paths, but the most notable was her time spent working for the State of NH, Division of Children and Youth. In her younger years she was an avid figure skater who later on became the longest part-time employee of the JFK Coliseum. In her 53 years at the JFK, her involvement included instructing, skating guard and the woman behind the ticket counter where she will always be remembered for her smile and encouragement to the many patrons who frequented the arena. She loved telling people about her skating days and would light up as she shared some of her stories.
She also loved music and theater which led her to join the Silver
Stars at the Palace Theater and a local theater group where she played roles in several musicals and plays. She was very proud of her contributions.
A private celebration of her life will be held by her family when conditions allow.
