Brenda E. Makin

September 22, 1942 — December 11, 2022

Brenda E. Makin, 80, of Bedford, died unexpectedly on December 11, 2022, at her residence.

Born in Manchester on September 22, 1942, she was the daughter of the late T. Gordon and Geraldine L. (Gellrich) Foote.  She was a graduate of Manchester High School West and earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Keene State College.

Brenda was employed with Alvirne High School at the beginning of her career, she taught home economics at Merrimack Valley High School, and owned her own ceramic shop.  She later worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Stephen Langlois before her retirement.

Brenda enjoyed sewing, baking and scrapbooking.  She also enjoyed time spent boating.  She was a dedicated parishioner of Immanuel Lutheran Church and her faith was very important to her.  Brenda was an avid NE Patriots fan, and loved to watch Tom Brady, regardless of what team he was on.  She was very caring, a bit outspoken, and above all else, loved her family more than anything.  She will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Brenda was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, David J. Makin, in 2017.

Surviving family members include two children, Karl J. Makin and wife Angela of Tilton and Kristina H. Acampora and husband John of Hooksett; four grandchildren, Samantha Wynne and husband Alex of Pensacola, FL, Brian Makin and significant other Bri Fontaine of Manchester; Amanda Acampora, and Lindsey Acampora both of Manchester; one great grandson Malcolm Makin; one sister, Roberta Fearon; and her nieces and nephews.
