Benjamin M. Carnahan

Benjamin “Ben” M. Carnahan 52, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Catholic Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Born in Manchester on January 16, 1971, the son of Richard and Joan (Tappin) Carnahan. He earned his associates in computer sciences and went on to work in  information technology for 30 years at Liberty Mutual Insurance in Portsmouth.

Ben was an avid camper, either tenting or in his RV he always had fun with those who joined him. He was also talented in the kitchen or on the grill, those close to him enjoyed his creative culinary creations. Ben also loved driving his convertible mustang and going to rock concerts. Above all, time with his family and friends was most important.

Ben will be remembered most for his sense of humor, ability to make people laugh, and his kindness.

Ben is survived by his mother, Joan Carnahan of Kittery;  his children, Mark Sartell and his wife, Heather of New Boston, NH, Christopher Sartell and his wife, Bryanna of Sanford, ME and Kylee Sartell of Derry, NH; his grandchildren, Leila, Mireya, and Willow. Ben will be greatly missed by his  fiancée Heidi Beaulieu and her children, Kyle and his wife, Danielle, Nicole Light and her husband Chris,  and  Jade Erlman.  Ben is also  survived by his  lifelong friend, Dan Ricard and his wife Michelle, and their children of Bedford NH, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions, in his name, may be made to The American Cancer Society.
