Benjamin M. Dionne, 81, of Goffstown, died January 30, 2003, at Bel-Air Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Manchester, September 11, 1921, he was the son of Arthur and Marie (Beaudoin) Dionne. He lived most of his life in Manchester and had been a resident of Goffstown the past 10 years.

He was an army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Dionne retired in 1986 from the Manchester Union Leader where he worked in the composing room for 33 years.

He was a member of the Parish of the Transfiguration at St. John the Baptist Church.

In addition he was a member of Catholilc War Veterans, Post 1684.

He was predeceased by a son, Gerard Dionne in 1979, his first wife, Carmen (Laliberte) Dionne in 1985, and his second wife, Lillian (Frechette) Palmer Dionne, in 1999.

Family members include 2 sons, Raoul B. Dionne of Springfield, VA., and Herve A. Dionne of Sacramento, CA; a daughter, Marie R.A. Marvin of Washington State; 3 step sons, Richard L. Palmer of Exeter, John E. Palmer of Manchester, and Dennis R. Palmer of Candia; 2 step daughters, Flossie Dobrolecki of Goffstown, and Patricia Mehlhorn of Litchfield; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday February 3, 2003 at the Parish of the Transfiguration at St. John the Baptist Church. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery.
