It’s with a heavy heart that we announce that Bernice J. Dean, 82, of Manchester, died peacefully April 2, 2024, at Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, after a period of declining health, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Lynn, MA on August 4, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Eleanor (McWha) Erekson. Bernice was a homemaker for many years, as well as a hair stylist, while raising her family. She later worked as Regional Area Manager for Hallmark Co., and then as a Bank Teller for Bank of America for several years before retiring in 2003.
Bernice loved spending time with her family and always put others before herself. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, shopping, reading, cooking and baking. Above all else, she will be remembered as a devoted, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.
Bernice was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Robert H. Dean, in 2010; and their son, Robert G. Dean in 2019.
Surviving family members include three daughters, Cheri Noel of Manchester, Debbi Mulvey and husband Brian of Lynn, MA, and Karen Dean and husband Gene Czzowitz of Manchester; six grandchildren, Stephanie Lee and husband Kevin, Jason Noel and partner Meghan Burnett, Christopher Mulvey, Cameron Mulvey and fiancé Lauren Moran, Korey Dean and Emma Czzowitz; two great grandchildren, Carson and Camden Lee; one sister, Ellen Palleschi and husband Bob; and Bernice’s fur baby and “favorite child” Molly.
SERVICES: A calling hour will take place from 9am to 10am with a Celebration Mass at 10am on Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester, NH 03103. Bernice will be laid to rest with her husband Robert in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, at a later date.
