Bertha Denoncourt, 98, of Bedford, died February 1, 2004, at her residence after a long illness.
She was born in Manchester on October 31, 1905, and was the daughter of William and Anna (Maillet) Godbout.
Bertha had been making her home at her son Alfred and daughter-in-law Cheryl's residence.Bertha was married for 20 years to Odilon Denoncourt, who died on December 27, 1948.
Bertha, had worked for many years at the Good Friends Clothing Store on Elm St. She was a recipient of the Boston Post Cane.
Bertha loved to go to yard sales, and tend to the garden with her daughter in law Cheryl. An excellent seamstress, she enjoyed reading and watercolor painting.
Family members include a daughter, Cecile Doyon of Twin Mountain NH; 3 sons, Leo Denoncourt, of Louisville KY, Alfred Denoncourt, of Bedford, Donald Denoncourt, of New Port Richey FL; a sister, Laura Morin, of Bedford; 24 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren;5 great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by four brothers, Arthur Godbout, Oscar Godbout, Alfred Godbout, Henry Godbout; and four sisters, Alice Godbout, Eva Gosselin, Rose Roy, Blanche Chaput, Lena Hemond-Ottley.
A memorial Mass was celebrated on Saturday February 28, 2004 in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Meetinghouse Rd. Bedford NH 03110.
