Bertha R. Hamel

Bertha R. (Brown) Hamel of Bedford died July 24, 2003 at a local nursing home after a long illness.

She was born in Manchester and was the daughter of David and Leoni Brown. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester.

She was a graduate of Central High School and Hesser College both in Manchester. She worked in various positions for several Manchester area businesses well into her 70's.

Mrs. Hamel was an active hiker, and enjoyed biking and gardening. She was a loving mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor. Her beautiful smile, spirited ways and energy will be missed.

She was married to George J. Hamel who died in 1997.

The family includes a son, David of Scottsdale, AZ; a daughter, Lorraine of Gilmanton Iron Works; grandchildren; great grandchildren and lifetime friends.

The burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester.

The family requests no flowers or calls.
