Bertha B. Lamoureux

Sr. Bertha Lamoureux (Sr. Marie Josephine), 88, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester, NH died November 18, 2003 at her residence.

Born in Fall River, MA on May 25, 1915, she was the daughter of Napoleon and Josephine (Blanchette) Lamoureux.

She entered the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in 1946, made her first profession in 1949 and her final profession in 1954.

Sr. Lamoureux was involved in community services in New Hampshire at Rivier College in Nashua for 5 years and in West Stewartstown and Berlin for two years. She was stationed in Rhode Island for 21 years at Albion, West Warwick and Woonsocket.

She also served at the Oblate Center in Natick, MA and with developmentally challenged children in Wrentham, MA. She later taught at St. Marie High School in Manchester, NH. She retired in 1984 to St. Bernard in Keene, NH and later transferred to he current residence in Manchester, NH.

The family includes two brothers, Paul Lamoureux of Woonsocket, RI and Lucien Lamoureux of No. Smithfield, RI; five sisters, Simone Remillard of Woonsocket, RI, Rolande Pouliot of Pasco, RI, Antoinette Lucier and Yvonne Williams both of No. Smithfield, RI and Rose Lacroix of California.

Calling hours are Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 8 pm. with a prayer service at 7 pm. in the Resurrection Chapel of St. Marie Residence, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 am. in the Resurrection Chapel. Burial will be in Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson, NH
