Berthe A. LaBonte Lavoie

Our mom, Berthe A. (LaBonte) Lavoie passed away Thursday Dec. 8th, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Nashua NH on Feb. 17, 1929, daughter of the late Arthur and Isabelle LaBonte.
Mom grew up in Franklin, NH and moved the family to Manchester. She enjoyed the simple things in life, her vegetable garden in the back yard, raking leaves in the fall and walks with her dog. She was the oldest of eleven, cooking meals and assisting with the chores at an early age. As a result, she was the best cook and her house was always neat as a pin. She worked as a housekeeper at a number of nursing homes and retired from Birch Hill Terrace. She then took up sewing and mending in her own home. She was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Parish. Mom was an avid Red Sox fan and never missed watching the games with her bowl of popcorn. She always looked forward to hosting family Fourth of July and Christmas gatherings with her late husband Robert, which are traditions the family continues today. Mom will best be remembered for her willingness and compassion to help anyone in need. She never said no. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Family members include one daughter, Marie Kohler, husband Ray, and their daughters Christine and Karyn; two sons, Arthur Lavoie, wife Ann, and his sons Dennis and Tim, and Robert Lavoie, wife Elaine, and their children Allison, Matt, and Ben; ten great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; two brothers, Robert and George; and five sisters, Ruth, Alice, Simone, Marguerite and Pauline. She is also survived by her loving dog Angel.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert, with whom they shared 52 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Arthur and Leon; one sister Jeannine; and step mother Leda LaBonte.
The family would like to thank to thank the staff at The Birches of Concord for the loving care and respect provided to our mom for the past three years.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 225 Hemlock St., Manchester. Burial will be private to family.
