Bertrand W. Bissonnette, 78, of Manchester, died March 30, 2012 at Catholic Medical Center following a period of failing health, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Putnam, CT on March 30, 1934 to William and Rose (Savoie) Bissonnette.

Mr. Bissonnette graduated from Mount St. Charles High School and later attended the University of Connecticut. He moved to Manchester in 1959 where he worked in the concrete industry until his retirement.

He enjoyed wintering in Florida and spending time with his family. He was an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed playing golf and watching all New England sports teams, especially the Patriots and Bruins.

He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

The family includes his beloved wife of 59 years, Shirley (Ducharme) Bissonnette of Manchester; a son, Kenneth Bissonnette of Manchester; two daughters, Denise St. Pierre of Laconia and Donna Labbe of Manchester; four grandchildren, Matthew Michaud of Manchester, Michael Michaud of Cary, NC, Brian Bissonnette and Kristen Bissonnette both of Manchester; three great-grandchildren, Alyssa Villemaire, Brandon Michaud and Cole Michaud; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and his dog, Tobie.

He was predeceased by a sister, Norma Courtemanche and a brother, Conrad Bissonnette.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
